Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Rappers Looking for Beats ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

2. User Accounts

2.1 Account Creation

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you must have parental consent. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

2.2 Account Types

• Rapper: Purchase and license beats for your creative projects
• Producer: Upload, sell, and license your original beats
• Hybrid: Both purchase and sell beats on the platform

2.3 Account Responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate information, maintain security of your account, and notify us immediately of any unauthorized access. You are responsible for all activities under your account.

3. Content and Licensing

3.1 Producer Content

Producers retain ownership of their original beats. By uploading content, you grant the Platform a non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute your content for the purposes of operating the marketplace.

3.2 Content Requirements

All uploaded content must:

• Be original work owned by you or properly licensed
• Not infringe on any third-party rights (copyright, trademark, etc.)
• Not contain illegal, offensive, or harmful material
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

3.3 License Types

Beats may be licensed under the following terms:

• Basic License: Non-exclusive rights for personal and non-commercial use
• Premium License: Non-exclusive rights for commercial use with streaming distribution
• Exclusive License: Exclusive rights with full ownership transfer (where available)

Specific license terms are provided with each purchase and must be adhered to strictly.

4. Payments and Fees

4.1 Platform Fees

The Platform charges a commission on each sale. Current rates:

• Standard producers: 15% commission on all sales
• Premium members: 10% commission on all sales

4.2 Payment Processing

All payments are processed through Stripe. By making a purchase, you agree to Stripe's terms of service. Producers receive payouts on a bi-weekly basis, subject to a minimum threshold of $50.

4.3 Refunds

Due to the digital nature of our products, all sales are final. Refunds may be issued at our discretion in cases of technical issues, duplicate purchases, or fraudulent activity.

5. Intellectual Property

The Platform and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Rappers Looking for Beats and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

5.1 Copyright Infringement

We respect intellectual property rights and expect our users to do the same. If you believe content on the Platform infringes your copyright, please contact us at legal@rapperslfb.com with:

• Description of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
• Location of the infringing material on the Platform
• Your contact information
• A statement of good faith belief that the use is not authorized
• A statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate

6. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

• Upload content you do not have rights to distribute
• Engage in fraudulent activity or payment disputes
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Attempt to circumvent payment systems or license restrictions
• Use automated systems to scrape or download content without permission
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code from the Platform
• Distribute malware or engage in hacking attempts
• Impersonate others or create fake accounts

7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms, fraudulent activity, or any other reason we deem appropriate. You may also terminate your account at any time through your account settings.

Upon termination, your right to use the Platform will immediately cease. Previously purchased licenses remain valid according to their terms. Producers must withdraw all content within 30 days of termination.

8. Disclaimers

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE UNINTERRUPTED SERVICE, SECURITY, OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR CONTENT UPLOADED BY USERS.

We do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or legality of user-uploaded content. Users license and purchase content at their own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RAPPERS LOOKING FOR BEATS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM.

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms or use of the Platform shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You waive your right to participate in class actions.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
